Sessions are available with Oona by appointment. A short introductory in-person or video chat / phone call to get a feel for the process and its suitability is recommended before booking an initial session. Please contact Tir na nOg or email omtherapies@proton.me for more information.
Somatic Experiencing
Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a multi-faceted therapeutic approach which works with body awareness to help the client’s nervous system release stored trauma and access positive resources to improve symptoms. It is a gentle, respectful and individually-tailored approach, and is generally a long-term approach to recovery from issues such as PTSD and complex PTSD.
Somatic Support (Multi-Modality Trauma Resolution)
A bespoke appointment combining various modalities developed to support recovery from both shock and developmental traumas, suitable for those working through challenges in overcoming difficult experiences, including bereavement, anxiety, traumatic incidents and childhood difficulties (all of which can lead to PTSD and complex PTSD). An initial session will include talking through current challenges, establishing a therapeutic goal, discussing options for using various models and techniques, and usually includes short experiences of some of the most appropriate approaches.
Repeat appointments will build on the initial session and will vary in format accordingly.
Helpful to know: This is depth-oriented trauma healing work, and is intended to be a gradual, long-term process for lasting results, although clients may find a single session helpful regardless.
Sessions may include Somatic Experiencing, NeuroAffective Touch, NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Hypnotherapy, talking therapy (psychotherapy), and Reiki or Seichim healing.
NeuroAffective Touch
NeuroAffective Touch is a somatic psychotherapy approach which uses intentional, mindful touch to bring the unconscious memories held in the body into conscious awareness.
NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM)
A model for understanding development trauma and providing non-judgmental, non-pathologising support to bring unconscious coping strategies into conscious awareness, and build capacity to move towards healing and growth.
